Outtakes is the follow up release to Riley’s original solo debut Notes to Self. These recordings of familiar classics were left over from the Notes to Self sessions and released later that same year. Riley performs on a variety of instruments and in a wide range of styles for this collection. Jazz standards like ‘Stella by Starlight’ and ‘Seven Come Eleven’ stand toe to toe with classical repertoire from J.S. Bach and pieces from South America. |
